Leaders first day in the show ring.  He got Best Bred by Exhibitor and a BBE Group 4.  Way to go Leader.

Leaders first weekend in the show ring was a huge success.  He got his first 3 point major.  Woooo Whoooo Leader!!!!

The latest Sandy Cove family member to finish his AKC Championship from the BBE Class.  We finished Leaders Ch at the Lakeland Fl Kennel Club Show on February 19, 2012.  I am very proud to have Leader in my family of Newfs.

Today with the help of a village, "Leader" became Champion Sandy Cove's Love Leads the Way. Thank you to you my friends and family that made this possible. Avery special thank you to my daughter Jennifer who gifts me in so many ways but specifically cares my dogs so I can make it to dog shows. Thank you to all the judges that found the merit I see in Leader and at the same time ignored my physical challenges when evaluating Leader. I want to thank Leader's Co-Breeder, Kimberly Wilcox for her loving care in the early days of Leader's life. I am especially grateful to Jennifer Beals, Leader's Co Owner for the care she provided Leader, the first year of his life. I appreciate all the support from Elizabeth Baugh and particularly her expertise and guidance in Leader's training. Leader's success in the ring is a reflection of the grooming talent and skill of Joan Schernekau with the caring assistance of her son. Christopher. Thank you to Kim Chonko and her daughter, Jess who volunteered to assist me on Friday, getting up before daybreak, driving many miles, Jess fluffing him out and then showing him for Winner's. Thank you to my brother Ted for his support through my rehab. Thank you to my brother Dick who throughout my life has always been part of my cheering section and particularly for making a great effort to be present for Leader's Championship win. I am particularly grateful to Bill Schernekau who assisted me today when my knees gave out after the Bred By class and showed Leader for WInner's and Breed which led to his finishing. A HEARTFELT thank you to Donna Bracco for her beautiful photography, not just today, but chronicling ALL the achievements and daily activities of Sandy Cove Newfoundlands and for her countless hours in designing, posting, and developing my web site ♥ Truly It took a village and if you are reading this...you are THAT VILLAGE~Thank you for your part in making this dream a reality ♥
