Therapy Dogs are very special indeed.  They touch people who need them, in ways that no one else can.  Cyrus is one of these VERY special guys.  He has touched so many childrens lives as well as my own.
The original "Nanna" in Peter Pan was a Newf.  They are well known for their love of children.

Cyrus has provided many special children with the gift of unconditional love.  He was my constant companion and assistant in my work with special needs students.  He has inspired children to talk that hadn't before.  He has helped them to read when that was a HUGE challenge for them.  He has listened while troubled children have shared how hard life had been to them, never judging or interrupting.  He has always been so happy to share his love and a sloppy kiss just to get a smile from a child that had very little to smile about.   He is a wonderful representation of what a special animal the Newfoundland dog really is.   Cyrus has had the pleasure of knowing a number of these children for many years and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the light that comes to their eyes and the smille on their face each time they get to share his love.
Big smiles are always abundant when Cyrus is around.
As you can see Cyrus loves to listen to the children read stories about other Great Newfoundlands.
Cyrus has inspired the creative talents of many of the children with whom he worked.  Here are just a couple examples.  More to follow.
Here are just a few of the wonderful tales of Newfs that the children would read to Cyrus.  He, always listening intently.  Always happy as the words were recited.  Comfortable and relaxed as the children vied for their chance to read.
